The EpiC Tool (http://epic.slis.indiana.edu/) supports the integration of large numbers of complex datasets at a variety of levels, e.g., population density, patient records, and social behavior, as well as state of the art analysis, modeling, and visualization of non-linear and complex phenomena emerging in large populations.
The EpiC Tool is built on the Cyberinfrastructure Shell (CIShell) (Cyberinfrastructure for Network Science Center, 2008), an open source software framework for the easy integration and utilization of datasets, algorithms, tools, and computing resources. CIShell is based on the OSGi R4 Specification and Equinox implementation (OSGi-Alliance, 2008).
